ChordBuddy Guitar Learning System and Practice Aid Review

I thought this was one of the coolest and most innovative products I've seen on Shark Tank. I have been wanting to learn to play the guitar for years and just recently bought this item. While it is a bit pricey, after placing this piece on my guitar I was able to play 5 songs in the first 20 minutes. It is much easier to go back and forth from chord to chord with the buttons than it is the string chords at first. I will say, while the chord buddy gives immediate gratification to play songs quickly, it is vitally important to also learn the string chord and finger positions as you go. Practice, practice, practice is all you need.

It's really a shame. This is a nice looking stand that opens and closes easily. The maker skimped on the most important part, the clutch. This would probably work for a while if you were only holding a few pieces of paper at time, but a music book of any sort will collapse it. It's possible that some of these are made better than others, but the one I got was a dud.

Snark SN-8(B) Super Tight All Instrument Tuner Review

Bought this Snark SN8 tuner to compliment my other tuners I have; an onboard tuner on my acoustic guitar and Intelli IMT500 clip on.

The product is well made and feels solid, the two swivel ball joints allow for any position you'd like.
The display looks great and clip on is sturdy and strong.

Performance wise the tuner displays the sound pitch amazingly quick and with a consistent reading, never wandering around like the IMT500 sometimes can, so on both speed and precision it gets 5 stars.

But on the accuracy side it's a bit lacking.
Even with the tuner indicating a solid green bar, I can have both my onboard tuner and the IMT500 show the pitch being either slightly sharp or flat. Not that there's an offset of sort, but simply that the green bar tolerance is too wide kinda like +/- 5 cents or so. My other tuners are like +/- 3 cents.

So there you have it, for quick tuning and if you don't care about the perfect pitch, the Snark SN8 is all aces. But if you're looking for a high accuracy tuner, the SN8 is not it despite being labeled as "super tight".

For the most accurate tuning use a strobe tuner or other tuner softwware app on iphone/android/mac/pc.

I own several tuners, and two Snark-2 tuners, which are great (except they're not low profile like the Korg Pitchclip Chromatic Clip On Guitar Tuner - Korg PC-1--please see my review of that tuner).

So, since I needed another tuner for my ukulele, I ordered this time a Snark-6. This one says, specifically, for a ukulele. I wanted to try it compared to the Snark-2 Snark SN-2 All Instrument Clip-On Chromatic Tuner

The Snark-6 and Snark-2 are identical, except for color. The Uke tuner here is gloss black, and the Snark-2 is matte red. Otherwise, the size of the dial/face, the clip itself is precisely the same. So, there's nothing more ukulele relevant about the 6 versus the 2. The tuning is chromatic, so it's good for any specific instrument (mandolin, guitar, uke, banjo, etc.).

So, choose whichever color you prefer, and go for it. Sweet tuner. Superb graphics on the dial, colorful accurate, and inexpensive (but not "cheap" build, like the Korg). Highly recommended tuner.

I have used a variety of violin tuners over the years. This clip-on tuner is great for tuning in a noisy area. It will read your string's note either by sound or by vibration. I thought at first that the red color would be a bit too wild. However, it is a lovely tone that blends in well with the brown color of my violin's scroll where I have it clipped. I do not even notice it's presence (by sight or by getting in my way) when I am playing the violin. Very cool tool!

The price was very moderate for the technology this provides.

This is a great music stand for a great price. It's metal and has a solid base so it's not tipsy. I've seen it used in orchestras but it blends into the home decor because of it's simplicity. Great for longterm use, especially for growing young musicians. I prefer this over the portable, foldable wire stands.

Seiko SQ50-V Quartz Metronome Review

Overall I like this quartz metronome for it's simple and does its job well. It gives two choice of tempo sounds that are pretty pleasant wooden click, unlike the beeping sounds from some electric metronomes. The dial is clear and easy to use.

The only problem I had with it is with the earphone jack. When I plug in the earphone I can only hear the sound in one ear (I tried several of my headphones) and the beeping is somehow different from when it's played out. I'm not sure if it's a common problem or not but it doesn't bother me that much because I don't really plan to use headphones with it.

Since I just got the item there's no way to tell the battery life. Hopefully the 9v battery that came with it would last a while.

Hisonic Signature Series 7121 Two Section Folding Music Stand with Carrying Bag Review

I bought this to replace a folding stand that was just not strong enough to hold up under the weight of some of my guitar books. This stand works great for me, and hold even the largest of my music and tab books.

The construction is much better than other portable stands I've used in the past, and has two great features that I really appreciate. One is it's height adjustable, and two is the tilting head. The tilting head is a real bonous on a portable stnad, and this one works great.

For the price this stand is a great buy that I would recommend to anyone, but being primarily a guitarist this stand is execptional. With the page holders tilting head and height adjustability this is one of the best stand purchases a guitarist can make.

Fender Accessories 009-1160-000 Clipon Chrome Tuner Review

This is the one I'd throw in the guitar case. The mount is solid, it folds into a very compact package ( you could
probably fold it and leave it clipped to your headstock when you put it in the case ) and the single button control is
very easy to use. The display is bright, the tuning indicator "needle" moves in 10 cent increments, (-50 to 0 to +50)
and turns from blue to green when it reaches pitch. This is great for regular tuning, but a little too coarse for fine
work like adjusting the guitar's intonation. Had they made it -40 to -10, -5, 0, +5, +10 to +40 this would be the perfect
tuner IMHO. As it is, it's 92% perfect and well worth having.
