This is not a spiral bound manuscript book. I wish I'd known. I bought another similar to this and the photo didn't show the spiral binding on it but it did come with it. This one, however, does not.

The pages are smooth and of a decent thickness. My son's violin teacher likes them a lot. However, I did have to buy the spiral bound one version. Otherwise, my 9-year-old son would have these pages all over Boston instead of securely in place in his notebook.
