Made of ABS plastic, the SKB-80A is designed for the arch top teardrop shape of the "A" style mandolin. A fitted interior with full neck support and Deluxe Plush protection on all sides, the case also features the new TSA recognized and accepted trigger release latching system and a comfortable rubber over-molded handle.

SKB Universal A-style Mandolin Case Review

I ordered this case specifically because of the FOUR beefy latches. Perhaps they are overkill but that is exactly what I wanted. I made my mandolin by hand and from scratch. So I wanted a case that inspires confidence. This one seems like it might work out, but it does not inspire confidence. And it is not the case depicted in the photo.

This case boasts TWO latches that seem pretty tough. It also has two rather cheap looking hinges. The exterior is standard black, molded case stuff. The inside of the case, while not plush, seems to have sufficient cushion. The fit is very good overall. With the case closed, the instrument does not wiggle around inside at all. For reference, my instrument has the dimensions of a 1922 Gibson A2 mando.

I should have read these reviews earlier because another buyer mentioned that the case received was not what he had ordered. Caveat emptor! Amazon will screw you if you let them!

I've had a Legend hammer dulcimer for years but no sturdy case for it. On a whim I decided to see if Amazon had any hammer dulcimer products and I am so glad I did. I ordered this case for my odd-sized 15/16 hammer dulcimer and it arrived quickly and very nicely packaged.

I'm surprised--the case surpassed my expectations in every way. It is good quality padding, great deep pocket in the front, nice carrying shoulder strap and handles and very snazzy to boot. I'm impressed all the way around. And the price is very fair when you start shopping around for cases!

Scalloped Mandolin Replacement Tailpiece - Nickel Review

Mandolin tailpieces are great for any home made build, because they are pretty, and versatile. But this one has a few flaws, first there are no screws included with it. Second, because the4 screw holes are so close to the string pins, you can't use a screw with a broad head, unless you don't care about that string. I'd reccommend drilling different holes to attatch it, or else be really careful with the scres you use.

Still, aside from that, it's really nice, and perfect when the smaller size is needed, there aren't a lot of tailpiece options out there this size, and most cigar box builds seem to need all the space they can find.
