Wright-Way Music Note Finder Review

Excellent teaching aid and not easy to find. I've taught piano for 40 years and this is one item that has never failed to help. The only downside is that the little note slides up & down the Grand Staff on a narrow gauge piece of string which wears out. Also, young students always want to try it out and it's not designed for children to press it to its limits! The string is somehow imbedded in the note, so when it breaks it's impossible to fix - at least for me. My solution was to buy 2 to have a spare!

This DVD was very informative and Mark breaks down what he is actually doing so you can understand why things in music are the way they are! Many instructors just show you and you perform them without a clue as to why things in music are structured the way they are. I was turned onto this author by a freak accident, I was in the local guitar store looking for a guitar DVD when his lick by lick Metallica jumped out at me. So I bought it, yeah I was amazed how he broke all the material down and it was easy to understand and learn. I still have the DVD and will not part with it.

This lamp is made of sturdy black metal, and it clips onto the top of the stand securely. (Unless you're using a Wenger plastic music stand, or a stand with a rolled top edge, in which case this light won't fit on the stand at all.)

The problem is that the light is not adjustable and the bulb throws light only on the top three inches of the music! That's why I have decided to use a metal clip-on light in the future. It's not available from Amazon, but it is adjustable, it lights the whole page, and it will clip onto any brand of stand.
