Right off, let me say how impressed I was with the fast delivery. I ordered on May 31 and got delivery on June 3! I am always reticent to order anything which says "Be the first to review this product." But I wanted multi-color, and Aquila was the endorsing firm ("Aurora strings by Aquila"). The price was fair so I bit. It took longer than I planned to install them, but they sound very bright, clean, and warm. I put them on a high end, gloss-finished, spruce top concert model, and the sound is bright and vibrant. They've been on for about 24 hours and are still going through the stretching phase. Hopefully, they'll settle in soon and hold tuning better. For now, they look and sound great, but I can't get through a song without it them going out of tune. When they hold tuning for an hour practice or performance, maybe we'll see five stars. More to come...June 19 - It's been two full weeks now and they are still stretching. Whether it's overnight or a couple days, they are at least a half-tone flat. I tightened the machines after about a week, but that apparently wasn't the problem. I'll write again if they ever stop stretching. We'll keep those four stars for now.

I needed a good travel bag for my mandolin and after some consideration, decided on this one. It arrived quickly (2 days!) and was exactly what was pictured. It has plenty of padding inside to protect my A-style mandolin and the zipper works wonderfully to seal it safe inside. I love the option of either carrying it with the side handle or using it as a backpack when going from one place to another when my hands are full. I've no complaints and expect to get good use out of this bag in the years to come. Thanks TKL for making a great product!

Schertler DYN-M for Mandolin Review

I've only played one gig with this pickup but I'm very impressed. Mandolin pickups tend to over-accentuate the highs I find, giving a brittle, harsh sound. Not so this pickup - it really does sound very true to the acoustic sound of the instrument.

I went direct from the instrument to the mixer, and I'm not sure that I'd bother with a preamp. The signal is strong enough to not really require a preamp, and the tonal balance is so good that I don't feel the need for any further control.

I had some reservations about the method of affixing the pickup to the instrument top, but it works surprisingly well. On my first attempt I had no problems putting it on, and it seemed quite solidly fixed. Plus, if someone does trip over the cord, it might be just as well if it comes off the instrument. Yes, it's a little fiddly to have to go through fitting business this every time you play in public, but the upside is that:
- You don't need to modify your instrument at all
- You can easily switch the pickup from one instrument to another

All in all, yes expensive but it does exactly what it claims to do.
