We love our Wittner Metronome - it keeps excellent time, looks great, and seeing the physical swing of the pendulum is helpful. We purchased one with a bell (the 814) - it works nicely, but we haven't actually used the bell while practicing.

One thing to note is that in terms of quality the model number matters! If there is a K after the number it is a plastic case. Furthermore, many of the 'wood casing' models (e.g. 801, 803) are only wood veneer - if you look at Wittner's website they have descriptions like 'mahogany-coloured', 'walnut-coloured', etc. To get one made of genuine walnut you need to get the 804 (or 814 with bell).
