Product Description
""Julius Klengel was a man well known for his composition skills. Born in Leipzig, he began taking cello lessons from his father at a very young age. At the age of 15 he was sitting principal cello in the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, and began composing. He has composed hundreds of pieces for violoncello including 4 cello concertos, 2 double concertos, quartets, a sonata, and many etudes and technical studies. It is important for musicians to always go back to the basics. Klengel's Technical Studies are a great compilation of scales and arpeggios helping cellists focus on intonation, bow distribution, clarity, tone production, and rhythm. This book is a very helpful study guide in advancing players, helping them to understand every area and position of the cello. Klengel's studies have become an asset in my daily practice and are a very helpful tool in playing any style or piece of music with precision."" - Ali Haraburda, Cellist and 2008 Shar Apprentice Volume 1 coversscales and arpeggios in two, three, and four octaves. The scales are also presented in brokenthirds, and with multiple bowing patterns for well-rounded practice. Edited by Leonard Rose, Published by International Music Company. It seems like every scale book I ran into was a ball of strings that I had to wad through! If it isn't in thirds it's into slurred 16th notes!!! Or some complicated timing! This one is so straight forward a kid could go through it. The scales are run into whole notes and then quarter notes, then 8th notes... It gradually gets more complex which is much better than your average scale book of which authors seem to wanna complicate it ....for what?? Great book should be for every teacher and every student!!Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Klengel, Julius Technical Studies Volume 1 Cello solo edited by Leonard Rose - International" are high quality item.
