This makes a pretty decent bedside stand for a tablet. The tripod legs hold it steady - it doesn't seem ready to fall over at any time like I've read about some other stands. My iPad 3 is held securely in place by the mount. The included USB cable is very convienent, although a little short on the bottom - you might need a standard USB extension cord to go with it, unless you are within about 2 feet of a plug. The flexible arm is a little stiff, but I was able to get it in to the position I wanted without too much trouble, and I'd rather have it be more stable than loose. It comes with a built in extension arm that allows you to raise the stand quite high - higher than the picture would lead you to believe. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it, it makes reading email, web browsing, and watching movies on a tablet pretty convienent in bed or on the couch. The tablet holder looks like it will accomodate a fairly wide range of devices - both my iPad 3 and Nexus 7 fit in it fine, and you could go with even larger tablets.

I knocked off a star for a couple reasons: One, the adjustable part of the tablet holder wouldn't tighten down - it appears to be missing a washer. Perhaps mine was mistakenly shipped without one but whatever the case it won't work without it. 5/8 twist-lock washers are cheap and do the trick but I shouldn't have had to make a trip to the hardware store to get one.

Also, the height extension is a little loose - there's a latch that when opened easily allows you to move it up and down, but it too is a little loose. It holds it in place when closed, but it's a little too easy to move up and down even in that state. I didn't have a problem with the weight of my tablet moving it once in place, but it's annoying when you are first adjusting it to the right position.

It also comes with a little plastic phone/mp3 player holder about mid-stand, but it's an afterthought and not much use. My iPhone 5 would fit in it only by using force (which I didn't want to do, as it's not padded) and it's one of the slimmest modern phones around - most Android phones, or the iPhone 4 for that matter, wouldn't fit, even sans case. I wasn't even expecting it so I won't knock off a star for that but be aware.

With the USB extension it's actually a decent deal. Buy it, just watch out for the usual fit and finish issues.

I'm an intermediate level bass player backing up a praise band at church and a company sponsored big band, but I'd never soloed or played a melody till I took a jazz class that used this book.Melody lines in the tunes are very readable, even though I did not know most of the songs, and had never played any of them. Tempos are moderate for a productive learning experience--our jazz band performs "Impressions" a lot faster than Aebersold teaches it. And his improv technique got me up and playing pretty quickly. Now I know what in improv solo is and how to get there. It improved my backup skills as well, and overall improved my confidence to step out more even in the backup role. Had a great time, and I'm headed back for another class with another Aebersold book. St. Louis Music St. Louis Stage Hardware Deluxe Folding Music Stand Review

I ordered this stand because it had good reviews and was relatively inexpensive. The material is so thin and flimsy I am afraid I'll break it. I am 5'5" and I can barely get this stand high enough to use comfortably while standing. I keep having to lower the tripod mechanism to make the base wider to keep it from tipping which makes it shorter. It's very tippy even when lowered and when using a fairly light music book. This stand is too flimsy and too short. Very disappointed.

I was just reading the reviews of the product because I want to get another one for a friend, and there was a bad review from the kid's mother, that kid was learning to play violin. I guess I didn't work for them because he's just a kid and not a musician, (probably he didn't know how to use it and he broke it) I'm a music student and I use it EVERY DAY over and over, and nothing had happened to it for the 8 months that I've been using it. I tried other known brands as korg, boose a I couldn't find the options that this little device can offer. this thing was made for combat.
