Grover-Trophy Clarinet Marching Lyres Review

I would not recommend this lyre, which is unfortunate considering that Amazon's selection of lyres is limited and most people have negative or uninformative reviews. This was the first lyre I have ever gotten, so I wasn't sure quite what to look for. This one in particular doesn't fit well around either of my clarinets. The wide ring gets caught under one of the keys and prevents you from playing. If you fiddle with it, you can get it to work, but you have to have your clarinet pulled apart just a bit which will change the sound and then have to compensate. Another very irritating thing during the season was the fact that when it's screwed all the way on the ring, it's tilted a little to the left, so my flip folder is not straight out in front of me. I usually would just have to loosen it, but then it would fall to the right or left again.

In the end, I do not recommend this lyre, and honestly I'm still looking for a new one on Amazon. I guess I'll just have to pick one at random and see how it ends up.
