The Planet Waves metronome is simply fantastic. Designed in a handy minature package, the PW-MT-01 has an easy to read LCD screen that shows "pendulum" movement. It offers red & green LEDs for time keeping (green for the downbeat), along with a pleasant clave sound with adjustable volume. With simple and intuitive controls, it's easy to select nearly any time signature, even triplets and complex rhythms.

The speaker is loud enough to be heard over jazz drums and other acoustic instruments. The mini headphone input is a real plus for silent personal use. There is a small rear kickstand that is easily removable if not needed. This allowed me to put Velco on the back of the metronome and attach it to a cymbal stand. The metronome even comes with two Maxell AAA batteries, so there's no hassle with an AC power supply. All of this at a bargain price.

The Planet Waves metronome is so great I bought a second one for my piano... and am selling my expensive Alesis drum machine and my cumbersome Boss Dr. Beat metronome. Sometimes, simpler really is better. Planet Waves (a division of D'Addario) has a real winner with this little device. Highly recommended.
