The Schatten NBJA Plus is an ABS jack assembly for all banjos. The jack mounts externally to the tensioning hooks with the included hardware, and includes an integrated volume control. I had been needing a product like this for years.

I had been looking for a way to satisfactory amplifier my Gold Tone BG250 Banjo, and had settled on two recycled drum triggers my brother used to use on he trap drum set before he went totally electric. The triggers consist of a piezo mounted in a disc about the diameter of a coin dollar attached to 1/4 " female jacks. I was feeding the two triggers into a y adapter with two male ends and one female out. This setup worked for a while but i was limited by not having a volumn control.

In using this product, i did not modify my drums triggers but instead sacrificed a 1/4 " monster cable to go between the drum trigger/ transducer and the volumn control box. As per instructions, it was easy strip the wires and do two soulders. I attach the volumn box to the outside rim of my banjo with the knob easily assesible.

Tested it out yesterday, and found the banjo tracks very nice when i record. The drum trigger is actually quieter now passing through the volumn control.

i would recomend it to anyone who already has a pickup, but just need volumn control. the same company also sells a volumn control with pickup/transducer.
