These are amazing strings, and my personal favorites. The wound A strings really sets it apart, it helps keep the mandolin in tune and helps with subtle intonation. Being that they are flat-wound strings, you do sacrifice a little volume, (not an issue if you are plugging in). The warm, balanced tone, and longevity of the strings make them worth it for me. More suited for jazz or classical players then the strictly bluegrass guys, in my opinion.
