I am a beginner as far as musical instruments go. I decided to learn to play the mandolin, and I knew that I would want something to keep my investment dust free and safe. I was only able to afford a "gig bag" style after blowing all my money on my mandolin, so I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I happily surprised. When I got it it was stuffed into a box, so I assumed it would be a thin nylon bag, but the padding is excellent and I love the option of holding it by the handle or using a shoulder strap. It also came with a zippered compartment in front to hold extra strings, picks, etc. All in all a good product. If there were something I would change, it would be to have two shoulder straps instead of just the one, to carry it like a backpack.
